Nikki Barker is Senior Counsel with Massey Law Group. She brings her extensive experience in family court, criminal prosecution, civil litigation, non-profit structure and practices, as well as a deep passion for community outreach.
Nikki graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and minor in criminal justice. She graduated from the Florida State University College of Law in 2007. Nikki is licensed in the states of Florida and New York and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
While attending law school, she was a Florida Supreme Court Educational Volunteer and a member of the College of Law’s Women’s Law Symposium, American Constitutional Society, Moot Court, and Journal of Transnational Law and Policy. She is a Florida Academic Scholar recipient, as well as a recipient of the American Taekwondo Association National Scholarship, where she has earned a 4th degree black belt and is a two-time taekwondo world champion.
Nikki began her law career with the New York City Law Department, serving first as a prosecutor in the Family Court Division, where she strived to take the efforts of the legal system outside of the courtroom. She worked as Community Outreach Coordinator, visiting at-risk schools and educating children about the juvenile justice system and positive alternatives.
She also worked as the Law Department’s Attorney Liaison to the Harlem Community Justice Center, where she presented cases on behalf of the city, with an emphasis on utilizing local resources to prevent recidivism among youth. Nikki served in the Special Victims Unit in Manhattan Family Court before transitioning to the Special Federal Litigation Division at the Law Department, where she focused on civil litigation involving constitutional rights.
Nikki serves on the board of Ava’s Voice, a non-profit specializing in the needs of deaf-blind individuals and their families, and is the New York Volunteer Coordinator for Halo Worldwide, an international non-profit focused on helping children in the greatest need.
