With great pleasure, Massey Law Group is pleased to announce that MLG Founding Shareholder, Starlett Massey, has been reappointed to The Florida Bar Diversity and Inclusion Committee and appointed Vice Chair. Starlett’s new term, which begins on July 1, 2023, marks the sixth consecutive year she has been selected for the committee.
“It is an absolute privilege to be elected to continue to serve the committee. I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside like-minded individuals that share a passion for protecting equality and rights,” said Starlett.
Founded in 2010, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee works with local communities and bar organizations to ensure their passion for inclusivity is shared amongst all legal professionals. The committee’s initiatives have allowed for diversity and inclusion, ensuring that leadership positions are available to attorneys of all backgrounds. In addition, these initiatives have increased opportunities for persons with disabilities and those who are racially, culturally, and ethnically diverse, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to become leaders.
Its Voluntary Bar Diversity Leadership Grants have made the committee’s goals possible. $50,000 is available through $1,500 and $3,000 grants to voluntary bar associations in Florida. The grants aid in promoting an inclusive environment and educating our community on some of today’s most pressing issues within the legal community, including diversity, cultural competency, participation, and gender equality.
Diversity and inclusion are values that guide MLG’s mission. We are dedicated to fostering and promoting these principles. We take pride in recognizing our partnerships in the community, such as The Florida Bar Path to Unity Program, Florida CraftArt’s “The Art of Healing”, Collab 3833’s ”Art Elevates”, and Champions for Children programs.
